External audit of statutory accounts
Rwanda’s Company Law requires many local companies to prepare statutory accounts that have been independently audited. Currently, the Rwandan tax laws also obligate all large tax payers to submit audited accounts. Similarly for non-profit and third sector organisations, donors frequently require audited accounts prior to continued funding being granted. This could prove daunting to those business owners who have not previously had to satisfy such requirements.

FAST has extensive international and local audit experience in both the private and governmental sectors. We will take you through the audit process and work with you and your team to quickly grasp the key drivers and risks for your business which could go on to impact the financial statements. We will then assess the significant underlying controls and procedures you have in place and perform testing of these as required. A report to management with relevant recommendations will be provided that could enhance the control environment if implemented.

A robust and independent audit opinion will not only satisfy the local auditing requirements, but also will also provide stakeholders with a high level of assurance from which informed decision making will flow.

External audit of program / project expenditures
The managing director of FAST is one of only circa 40 indiviudals permitted to sign audit reports in Rwanda by the local accounting institute ICPAR. She has extensive experience of auditing significant and complex expenditure streams from different sources of funding. We can work with you to establish the level of assurance you require then formulating an audit work plan to deliver the reporting you require. Our work will be objective, independent and reliable.
